The Health Ministry has assured that the recent acquisition of lab equipment used for AIDS testing is above board.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In a statement on Monday, the Ministry sought to correct media reports it said placed misinformation in the public domain.<\/p>\n

The Ministry assured that all the required procurement processes were followed in the procurement of the equipment.<\/p>\n

Further, it said the contract for the sup\u00adply, in\u00adstal\u00adla\u00adtion, and com\u00admis\u00adsion\u00ading of equipment\u00a0for a Mol\u00ade\u00adc\u00adu\u00adlar Biology Lab\u00ado\u00adra\u00adto\u00adry was awarded on February 6, 2018 by the Central Tenders Board to Massy Integrated Retail Limited (Massy Distribution Division) at a total cost of $40,645,357.20.<\/p>\n

The contract covers a five-year period.<\/p>\n

The legal agreement, prepared by the Chief State Solicitor\u2019s Department, Ministry of the Attorney General & Legal Affairs, was signed by Massy Integrated Retail Limited and the Ministry on March 20.<\/p>\n

The Ministry added that it is understandable and common that a contract of such a significant value would have a lengthy deliberation process before parties arrive at a final agreement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
